The album Completely Gray Man is released three years after its predecessor, the album Perseids. Three-quarters of the album consists of original songs with lyrics from established authors, while the remaining quarter is filled with world standards featuring Czech lyrics – Miss Otis Regrets, St. James Infirmary, and Too Young. As a kind of bonus, Jan Spálený included the song Ocúny, a poem by Guillaume Apollinaire set to music. Jan Spálený's music doesn't have a 'golden jacket,' but it is civil, authentic... The diverse songs are united by a sense of lived blues, which has drawn audiences to Jan Spálený and ASPM concerts for four decades.
