Description
This Marabu screen-printing set for decorating textiles introduces a printing method in which ink is pressed through fine mesh onto fabric with a squeegee. A template can be made from paper or adhesive film cut to A5 size. Transfer the design to the template material and cut it out, choosing either a negative template, where the cut lines and shapes remain white while the rest is printed, or a positive template, where the design remains and the surrounding areas are removed. Attach the template to the flat side of the screen with adhesive tape, place the frame on the fabric with its flat side against the material, and make sure any lettering is readable from the frame side. Apply an approximately 1 cm-wide line of ink along the upper edge, spread it over the design from top to bottom without pressure, then draw the squeegee across the design with even pressure to transfer the ink to the fabric. Carefully lift the frame and flood it with ink again after each printing process. Clean the frame and template immediately and leave them to dry. Once dry, fix the fabric in an oven for 8 minutes at 150°C or iron it without steam for 3 minutes. After fixing, the fabric can be washed at up to 40°C. The set contains 100 ml of textile printing ink in soot 974, a 250 × 188 mm frame with 51T/130 mesh, a 102 × 73 mm squeegee, a painting spatula and a booklet.
