Marabu Easy Marble marbling paints are suitable for creating decorative effects for every season, transforming plain white Easter eggs or ordinary coloured Christmas ornaments into special decorations. The paints are ideal for marbling plastic, glass, wood, metal and polystyrene, as well as for large marbled effects on paper. The set contains six colours. The paints are not suitable for use as food colouring. When working with Easy Marble, wear protective clothing such as rubber gloves and an apron. Work quickly, as the paint forms a film on the water in a very short time, making it impossible to create a marbled pattern. To apply individual drops, hold the bottle at an angle rather than vertically. The order in which the colours are applied has a major effect on the pattern; the second colour generally displaces the first and is therefore more visible. To create a single-colour marbled effect, use Crystal Clear together with the desired colour. Colour intensity depends on the size of the water container and the amount of paint used. Colours can be mixed in a separate container and then dripped onto the water or onto the marbled effect. The original shade can only be achieved on white materials; darker backgrounds such as wood or papier-mâché make the colours appear darker. Before marbling glass and metal, clean them with white spirit. Easy Marble Effect and white pigments in neon, metallic and pastel shades settle heavily at the bottom, so shake them well or remove the dropper cap and briefly stir the paint. Using more paint and cooler water extends the drying time of the paint film on the water’s surface. When marbling polystyrene, use only a small amount of paint. The more paint used, the more intense the marbled effect; the fresher the paint, the better the result. If drops are added too vigorously or too slowly, air bubbles may form on the marbled surface and leave white spots once the object dries. Smooth surfaces such as metal and glass should first be cleaned with alcohol.
