Marabu Easy Color Batik Dye - Purple, 25 g

Purple dye for batik and hand dyeing, suitable for cotton, linen, silk, viscose, blended fabrics containing no more than 20% synthetic fibres, and rice paper. It can be hand-washed at up to 30°C. One 25 g sachet is sufficient for intensely dyeing 150 g of fabric, but it is not suitable for hot washing. The dye has very good lightfastness and is also suitable for children. The original colours can be achieved only on white textiles; coloured textiles produce a shade mixed with the base colour. For intense dyeing, pour 3–5 litres of boiling water into a large stainless-steel container so the fabric can move freely. For medium to pale shades, use 7 litres of water for up to 300 g of fabric. Add and dissolve the sachet’s contents, then add one tablespoon of table salt per litre of water and dissolve it. For silk, also add 50 ml of household vinegar. Moisten the fabric with lukewarm water and gently wring it out, then place it in the dye bath. For wax batik, allow the temperature to fall to 40–50°C. Dye for at least 20 minutes while constantly moving the fabric. After each dyeing cycle, rinse the dyed fabric in cold water until the water runs clear; silk must cool slowly before rinsing.
