Description
Crimson dye for batik and hand dyeing, suitable for cotton, linen, silk, viscose, blended fabrics containing no more than 20% synthetic fibres, and rice paper. The dye can be hand-washed at up to 30°C and has very good lightfastness. A 25 g sachet provides intense colour for 150 g of fabric; hot washing is not suitable. The original colours are achieved only on white textiles, while coloured fabrics produce mixed shades. To dye the fabric, dissolve the sachet in 3–5 litres of boiling water for intense colours, or 7 litres for medium to delicate shades, then add one tablespoon of table salt per litre. Silk also requires 50 ml of household vinegar. Moisten the fabric, place it in the dye bath, and dye it for at least 20 minutes while keeping it moving. For wax batik, reduce the temperature to 40–50°C. After dyeing, rinse the fabric in cold water until the water runs clear; silk should cool slowly before rinsing. Suitable for children.
