Marabu Easy Color Batik Dye - Orange-Red, 25 g

Orange-red dye for batik and hand dyeing on cotton, linen, silk, viscose, blended fabrics containing no more than 20% synthetic fibres, and rice paper. The dye can be hand-washed at up to 30°C and is suitable for children. One 25 g sachet provides intense colour for 150 g of fabric. Hot washing is not suitable, and the dye has very good lightfastness. Original colours are achieved only on white textiles; coloured textiles produce a shade mixed with the base colour. To dye intensely, dissolve the sachet in 3–5 litres of boiling water in a large stainless-steel container, allowing the fabric to move freely. For medium to pale shades, use 7 litres of water for up to 300 g of fabric. Add and dissolve one tablespoon of table salt per litre of water; silk also requires 50 ml of household vinegar. Moisten and lightly wring the fabric, place it in the dye bath, and for wax batik allow the temperature to drop to 40–50°C. Dye for at least 20 minutes while continuously moving the fabric, then rinse it in cold water after each dyeing cycle until the water runs clear. Silk must cool slowly before rinsing.
