The 20th century begins - a time of discoveries and adventures. In the middle of the ocean, a mysterious island, Atlantis, has been discovered. A group of adventurers sets out to explore it and is just about to return to the mainland with many treasures when the island starts to slowly sink back into the ocean! In panic, the adventurers try to escape their dreadful fate, some more fortunate on boats, while the less fortunate try to swim. However, no one is safe from the sharks, whales, and sea serpents that swarm around the island! Can you make it back to the mainland in time? The Island is a fast-paced social game in which players take on the roles of nation leaders trying to save their people from the gradually sinking island of Atlantis before it completely submerges or is torn apart by a volcanic explosion. You can let your people swim to safety or transport them on boats. But beware of the sea serpents, sharks, and whales that abound around the island, or the treacherous sea currents. The game system allows each player to control their own pieces while also strategizing and hindering others by removing tiles from the island or moving sea monsters.
