One of the most prominent singers, songwriters, and lyricists of the domestic pop scene. Founder and frontman of the bands Oceán (1985 – 1992) and Shalom (1992 – 1996), he embarked on a solo career in 1997 and released several very successful albums awarded Gold and Platinum discs. A holder of the music academy award, he regularly ranked in the popularity poll Český slavík. Tragically, he passed away in 2010 at the age of 45. A representative selection of songs by Petr Muk is being released on the occasion of numerous anniversaries we commemorate in 2020, including his uncelebrated 55th birthday (February 4, 1965), the birth of Oceán (1985), the ocean's debut album Dávná zem (1990), the most successful solo album Jizvy lásky (2000), the fifth studio and last solo album V bludišti dnů (2010), and 10 years since the end of Petr's earthly journey (May 24, 2010).
