20 deka duše - CD

This remastered CD presents Vladimír Mišík’s fifth, unnumbered album and his first entirely free release. Recording was completed at Prague’s Mozarteum studio on 17 November 1989, the day students began a peaceful revolution against the communist regime nearby on Národní třída. Even before then, Mišík and the band ETC… had agreed to pursue the rawest possible form of their music under weakening censorship: fewer keyboards and computers, a partial return to acoustic songwriting, and lyrics free from supervision. The album brings together numerous musicians, with different players taking turns on individual instruments, while J. Hrubý, J. Nejezchleba, P. Skoumal and the lyricists J. Dědeček, J. Burian, V. Merta and P. Šrut remain among its constants, alongside Mišík in several roles. Songs such as Šmajdák a ploužáky, Sadem, lesem, parkem, Černá holka, Balada pivní and Životní režim expanded Mišík’s collection of hits. The reissue restores the distinctive handwritten artwork by Karel Haloun and includes three songs originally omitted from the bonus listing: Špejchar blues, Tvé oči and Královský večer.
