Nemám hlas jako zvon - LP

This vinyl reissue presents the album on which Jiří Schelinger appears for the first time as the sole lead singer. Following his earlier division of the repertoire with Viktor Sodoma, the collection remains stylistically varied while pointing more clearly towards the future. Alongside essentially bubble-gum songs, it offers a carefully chosen selection ranging from guitar boogie to suitable country songs and a fine ballad by Olda Říha. It also includes Schelinger’s own successful compositional experiments and another relaxed rhythmic song from Santana’s repertoire. A breakthrough moment is the hard-rock version of a Black Sabbath song, skilfully concealed beneath F. R. Čech’s lightly propagandistic lyrics, an unexpectedly bold choice in normalization-era Czechoslovakia in the mid-1970s. The original album was also distinguished by a cover of Neil Young’s Heart of Gold, titled Pojď, whose Czech version could not be included because the rights can no longer be obtained. As a small replacement, the bonus track Lásko, dej mi sílu offers a short but exceptionally powerful melody by Karel Svoboda, written for Schelinger’s unique voice and acoustic guitar. Since the original photographic and graphic artwork was not preserved in print quality, the cover has been reconstructed from photographs by O. Dlabola and supplemented with an informative text by Miloš Latislav. The remastered sound and appearance adapted to current vinyl reissues make this an ideal addition to the complete collection. The tracklist includes Miminko (Mean Girl), Hledám cestu zpátky (Super Woman), Vnímám, Metro, dobrý den (A National Acrobat), Že ho neznám, jsem vážně rád (I Really Don´t Want to Know), Perpetuum mobile, Misaluba, Nemám hlas jako zvon, Kluci, už je to tady! (No One to Depend On), Buď s námi dál, V balóně and Lásko, dej mi sílu.
