This three-CD collection celebrates country singer and harmonica player Tomáš Linka as he approaches his eightieth birthday. It brings together several dozen hits from past decades as well as six new songs, including his version of Když milenky pláčou. Linka, one of the last cowboys of a remarkable generation of musicians who began recording in the late 1960s, has moved from American traditional songs such as Jesse James, Rok 1849, Lojza a Líza and Červená řeka, and classics by Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, through the songwriting traditions of Gordon Lightfoot and John Denver, to contemporary electrified country rock. Alongside well-known adapted songs such as Paní má se má, Je mi líto, Chci být vodou na tvůj mlýn, Hraj fér, Tisíc mílí nikam and Půlnoční kovboj, the compilation also presents Czech repertoire. The 60 songs, recorded with Greenhorns, Fešáky, Cadillac PB and Přímá linka, offer more than three hours of listening to a respected country bard.
