This 2LP edition presents Monika Načeva’s cult album Nebe je rudý on vinyl for the first time, thirty years after its original release in April 1996. Closely associated by many listeners with defining moments of the 1990s, the album also remains a contemporary discovery thanks to Načeva’s active and inspiring work. The timeless songs feature lyrics by Jáchym Topol, set to music by Načeva and her band, who were completely immersed in the creative process and developed a distinctive sound that defined the period around 1996. Recorded at Propast studio under the production supervision of Jan P. Muchow, the album combines Topol’s poetry with music influenced by trip-hop, electronics and the dark energy of Prague’s mid-1990s underground. It remains just as urgent, raw and contemporary today. This carefully remastered reissue, prepared at SONO Records under the supervision of Načeva and Muchow, comes as a limited numbered series of 999 copies in a gatefold 2LP edition spread across three vinyl sides. The remastered album is also released digitally.
