Description
Arakain’s S.O.S. returns in a special reissue, released in autumn 2024 on CD, digitally and, for the first time, as a 180 g LP. In the mid-1990s, the Czech heavy metal scene faced a difficult period as grunge, crossover and electronic music gained popularity. Arakain experienced declining concert attendance and record sales, while singer Aleš Brichta was successfully pursuing a solo career. After the band’s last regular album in 1993, an English-language reissue of its debut and the covers album Legendy filled the gap, making S.O.S. a fitting title. The twelve-track collection was recorded in 1995 by the songwriting trio Kub, Mach and Urban, who also produced it with Brichta, the band’s lyricist. Arakain continued moving away from thrash metal towards classic, raw heavy metal and driving groove metal. The tracklist includes “To jsme my”, “S.O.S”, “Páteční flám”, “Třináctá komnata”, “Loutky”, “Schody nikam”, “Adrian”, “Hladit vlasy tvý”, “Hanibal”, “Hlas krve”, “Blázni víry” and “Tuším zradu”.
