Michal Horák’s third studio album contains fourteen carefully selected original songs produced by Filip Vlček and songwriter Jenda Vávra. The recordings feature a rich and distinctive sound created with keyboard player Jan Steinsdörfer, violinist Adam Černík, double bassist Miloš Klápště, drummer Jan Nikendey and Horák himself. The songs follow the tradition of Czech singer-songwriters, while occasionally revealing Horák’s interest in music theory, most clearly in “V harmonii”. His characteristic humour runs throughout an album that is balanced in its instrumentation, lyrics and production, with potential hits including “Není to divný”. Further listening brings new details to the foreground, revealing a mature and assured work in which every note has its place.
