Sobě věrnej - CD

This CD contains Škwor’s eleventh studio album, Sobě věrnej, released as the band celebrates 25 years on the scene. Prepared over the previous two years in the group’s own studio, the album features a significant contribution from guitarist Jan Chudan, who helped give the recording a contemporary rock sound. It follows the platinum album Tváře smutnejch hrdinů and was previewed by the singles and videos for Sobě věrnej and Příkaz zněl jasně. The title track has become part of Škwor’s concert repertoire and was the most-played song on Czech rock radio during the summer. Alongside its driving rock songs and distinctive melodies, the album includes slower tracks such as Svět iluzí and Zapomenutý hříchy. The 14 tracks feature music mainly written by Tomáš Kmec and Jan Chudan, with lyrics by Petr Hrdlička and Jan Chudan. Special guests include DJ Flux, who adds scratching to several recordings, and cellist Marek Novák. The visual design comes from musician, filmmaker and artist Michal Skořepa. The Czech-language album combines a compelling rock tempo, strong melodic lines, persuasive lyrics and the vocals of frontman Petr Hrdlička.
