This four-CD collection celebrates Václav Neckář’s 80th birthday with 79 legendary recordings and one new song, spanning his career from 1965 to 2023. Despite life’s trials, Neckář has retained his vocal vitality, his band Bacily, led by his brother Jan, and an extraordinary repertoire. Miloš Skalka divides the recordings into four carefully arranged chapters, covering the beginning of his musical journey, his work mainly with Bacily, the challenges of the 1980s and his path into the new millennium. The selection includes enduring songs such as Tu kytaru jsem koupil kvůli tobě, Lékořice, Suzanne, Čaroděj dobroděj, Já ti zabrnkám, Potulný hráč, Mýdlový princ, Tvým dlouhým vlasům, Perla, Láska ztracená, Oči koní and Půlnoční. Neckář sings both alone and with Helena Vondráčková, Marta Kubišová, Jana Robbová, Věra Špinarová and Lenka Dusilová. The collection also features the new song Snílek by Jaromír Švejdík and Dušan Neuwerth, and includes a booklet with a detailed biography.
