Description
This Czech-language audiobook presents the powerful life story of composer Jiří Zmožek, based on a book-length conversation with his daughter, writer Markéta Zahradníková. Actors Jaromír Meduna and René Slováčková read the text, which traces the musician’s rise and fall, losses and victories, and includes memories of Karel Gott, Hana Zagorová, Věra Špinarová and many other popular figures. The account offers an engaging look at the Czechoslovak music scene and its backstage world, including the stories behind hits such as “Zvonky štěstí”, “Biograf láska”, “Nejhezčí dárek” and “Tam u nebeských bran”. The audiobook also contains fifteen hits performed by stars of Czech popular music, three songs sung by Jiří Zmožek and his own afterword.
