Description
This double-vinyl collection brings together 17 of Michal Prokop’s most enduring recordings from more than 55 years of recording and concert work. It spans his confident soul and rhythm-and-blues beginnings in the late 1960s, the legendary album Město Er, the unforgettable “Yesterday” songs, his highly successful post-bureaucratic career and the more recent Má vlast, which organically follows everything that came before. The selection includes “Keep a Light in the Window,” “Hold on I’m Coming,” “I Believe to My Soul,” “Tys kámen,” “Noc je můj den,” “Holubí dante,” “Bitva o Karlův most,” “Kolej Yesterday,” “Blues o spolykaných slovech,” “Yetti blues,” “Nic ve zlým, nic v dobrým,” “Snad nám naše děti prominou,” “Zloději času,” “Zatmění,” “Kartáček na zuby,” “Nebe anebo cesta do pekel” and “Má vlast.” The release comes in a gatefold package with artwork by Karel Haloun and Luděk Kubík, using original album covers and a photograph by Ivan Prokop in a reflective cover concept.
