Description
This two-CD compilation traces Vladimír Mišík’s career from 1969 to 1991. Originally released in 1993, it presents the songs in roughly chronological order, from his beginnings with Blue Effect and Flamengo to the search for his own musical path. Mišík’s music embraces synthesizers and other studio and electronic influences, while remaining rooted in strong guitar melodies, carefully chosen lyrics, the excellent musicians of ETC… and his unique voice as a singer and storyteller. His original rhythm and blues and near-hard rock developed through encounters with many other influences, especially folk music. The collection includes songs such as “Kuře v hodinkách”, “Slunečný hrob”, “Stříhali dohola malého chlapečka”, “Variace na renesanční téma”, “20 deka duše” and “Špejchar blues”, as well as a jam session with Fr. Gellner. The compilation has been newly remastered from the best available tapes at Sono studio and comes in packaging inspired by the original cover, designed by Karel Haloun and Luděk Kubík.
