Description
Music inspired by Beata Parkanová’s film Slovo, this special album presents twelve duets whose lyrics were written by the director herself. The film follows Václav and Věra, a married couple in the late 1960s who promise to stand by each other and not cross their moral boundaries, even in the face of oppression, humiliation and the loss of security. Film-music composer Jan P. Muchow serves as the album’s musical producer and curator, inviting a diverse group of Czech and Slovak songwriters and performers to contribute without imposing any particular genre. The duets bring together Anna Fialová and Ondřej Ruml, Kristína Mihaľová and Katarzia, Beata Hlavenková and Juraj Benetin, Andrea and Mikoláš Růžička, Kateřina Winterová and Václav Havelka, Tereza Krippnerová and Ondřej Rychlý, Daniela Písařovicová and Ondřej G. Brzobohatý, among many others. Slovo offers a varied collection of chanson-influenced duets, united by depth, strength and tenderness. The title song features Lenka Dusilová and Vojtěch Dyk.
