This two-CD compilation presents 50 cover versions and other hits from Czech big beat between 1966 and 1973, some released on CD for the first time. It captures the lighter combination of rock with other influences and the popularity of west coast and harmony singing, featuring songs associated with the Beatles, Mamas and Papas, Bee Gees, Tremeloes, Procol Harum, Beach Boys, Hollies and others. Forty-four songs in Czech and varying-quality English are joined by six examples of original work by local songwriters. The booklet includes editorial notes, original single covers and photographs, completing this musical document of the era under the theme “Colours of covers.”
