Asi se mi nebude chtít - CD

A special solo album by Petr Janda, created to mark his eightieth birthday, brings together newly written songs, lyrics, a studio band and numerous guests. Although Janda’s melodic ideas reflect the author of roughly a thousand songs, mostly recorded with Olympic, this music differs in many respects. It looks back and takes stock, but is certainly not a farewell, as the singer, guitarist and composer still has energy to spare. The twelve recordings follow a carefully arranged sequence, while two bonus tracks on the CD underline the album’s exceptional character. Janda is joined by Lukáš Pavlík on drums and as co-producer, Adam Stivín on bass, Ondřej Fencl on keyboards, vocals and lyrics, and Lukáš Koranda on backing vocals and lyrics, as well as musical friends including Jiří Stivín, Emil Viklický, Antonín Gondolán and Jiří George Kozel. The album also features Pavel Šporcl on violin, Matěj Ptaszek on harmonica, Petr Vondráček on piano, Karel Mařík on accordion, prominent brass and the Dobrý večer Quintet on vocals, along with Marta Jandová in a ballad duet with her father. Its Czech-language songs combine rock, chanson surprises and a touch of swing. The tracklist includes “Asi se mi nebude chtít,” “Pohádka,” “Tomu dala” featuring Marta Jandová, “Střepy,” “U starýho hrocha,” “Jandův svatební pochod,” “Slunečník,” “J. S. Bach,” “Hrací skříňka,” “Bílá královna,” “Já to takhle mám rád” and “Mladej kmet,” followed by the bonus tracks “Žádnej happy end” and “Zvláštní film.”
