Description
This CD brings together 21 original recordings from the 1960s and 1970s for the musical Rebelové. The songs accompany a retro story set in 1968, whose romantic and dramatic themes unfold during a brief period of freedom brought to an end by Soviet tanks. Filip Renč’s film became a phenomenon in Czech cinemas two decades ago, and the new musical adaptation was again prepared under his direction, with a script by Z. Zelenka. The carefully selected songs come from the repertoires of Yvonne Přenosilová, Josef Zíma, Helena Vondráčková, Milan Chladil, Marta Kubišová, Helena Blehárová, Waldemar Matuška, Václav Neckář, Eva Pilarová, Pavlína Filipovská, Olympic, Petr Novák, Hana Ulrychová and Judita Čeřovská. The tracklist includes Měsíc, Gina, Pátá (Down Town), Tereza, Stín katedrál, Hvězda na vrbě, Já budu chodit po špičkách and Řekni, kde ty kytky jsou (Where Have All the Flowers Gone), among other songs.
