Tváře smutnejch hrdinů - CD

This CD presents Škwor’s album Tváře smutnejch hrdinů, a substantial rock elixir driven by the Prague four-piece’s characteristically energetic sound. The band is one of the few consistent and steadily growing names on the Czech rock scene, with an expansive live show and music that remain popular with fans. Its sold-out birthday concert at Prague’s O2 arena and successful arena tours have confirmed its strength both as a musical and audiovisual act and through its growing fan base. Three years after the Supraphon Gold Disc-winning album Uzavřenej kruh, Škwor returns with twelve new tracks that pulse with familiar rock energy while remaining recognizable, progressive and full of musical surprises. New guitarist Martin Volák contributes precise, inventive riffs that bring a fresh breeze to the band, further enhanced by a mix by renowned sound wizard Amak Golden. Frontman Petr Hrdlička’s lyrics remain a valued constant, combining sharp directness with incisive reflections on personal matters and issues affecting society as a whole. They work equally well in driving songs such as Už je to tak dávno, Noc nebo den and Spoutanej and in the band’s popular, more balladic mode, represented here by Nejistá přítomnost and Doufej.
