Dasha Symphony - CD

Dasha Symphony is a celebration of music without borders by Dasha, one of the most popular singers on the Czech music scene, and her second solo album. While her 2017 debut, Finally, featured original songs largely written by producer David Solař, this recording draws mainly on a proven repertoire of international hits. The album is based on Dasha’s existing concert programme and was originally intended as a live recording with the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, but the inability to hold concerts before an audience led to the creation of a studio album. The orchestral foundations were recorded in the philharmonic hall, while Dasha and David Solař recorded the vocals in the intimate surroundings of the SO-LA-RO studio in Vyžlovka. The result is an expansive musical project featuring an excellent orchestra and backing band, arrangements by Martin Kumžák, who also conducts, and Dasha’s outstanding vocals. The album presents international hits from both the recent and more distant past, including “Don’t You Worry ’Bout a Thing”, “Fantasy”, “Empire State of Mind”, “Get Here”, “Fields of Gold” and “Man in the Mirror”, as well as “Modlitba”, an original song appearing officially for the first time. The repertoire is sung mainly in English, with French, Italian and three Czech recordings also included. Special attention goes to “Adagio”, the Baroque work by Tomaso Albinoni with Italian lyrics by Lara Fabian. The tracklist also includes “Dernière Danse”, “Sunny”, “Najednou”, “Mercy”, “Symbol žen (Every Woman in the World)” and “It Is You (I Have Loved)”.
