Škola života / Kurs pro začátečníky, starší a pokročilé - CDmp3

This Czech-language MP3 audiobook presents 11 episodes from School of Life, a radio course for beginners, older people and advanced students, performed by Milan Lasica and Július Satinský. In the second half of the 1990s, Jan Kolář, then editor-in-chief of Czech Radio’s entertainment department, initiated this series of humorous improvisations in the spirit of the famous introductory scenes by V+W. The sketches were recorded as spontaneous performances, with each of the 11 episodes interspersed with a related song, several sung by Milan Lasica. Lasica and Satinský’s distinctive humour grows from their mutual attentiveness and intellectual interplay, as one idea inspires the next, while their alternating roles as straight man and gagman are difficult to distinguish. Their differing temperaments occasionally reveal Satinský as the natural storyteller and Lasica as the laconic commentator. The collection includes How to Behave in an Erotic Salon, Republic and Monarchy, The Importance of a Servant to Prosperity, How to Behave at a Reception, How to Have a Happy Marriage, How to Live to a Ripe Old Age, How to Behave at a Concert, How to Behave on an Aeroplane, How to Become an Actor, How to Celebrate Properly and How to Become a Happy Alcoholic.
