Description
This 16-CD audio collection presents eight Semafor theatre plays from the 1970s, continuing the earlier box sets of recordings from the 1960s. The Czech-language recordings feature plays by Jiří Suchý, with music by Ferdinand Havlík and, in The Man from the Attic, also Jiří Šlitr. The final disc includes a recently discovered studio recording of the previously unreleased 1978 album Malý domácí tingl-tangl, while the famous production The Bouquet appears here in its complete form for the first time. Three recordings were made by the theatre’s sound engineer Bohumil Paleček for internal use, while four others come from producer Hynek Žalčík’s archive; he had prepared them for release, but political circumstances during the period of normalization prevented this. The collection features dozens of performers associated with Semafor, including Jiří Suchý, Jitka Molavcová, Josef Dvořák, Ferdinand Havlík, Naďa Urbánková, Karel Černoch, Martha Elefteriadu, Petra Janů, Petra Černocká, Jiří Helekal, František Filipovský, Evžen Jegorov, Jiří Datel Novotný, Věra Křesadlová, Vladimír Hrabánek, Dagmar Patrasová and Magda Křížková. The set was selected and compiled by Lukáš Berný and includes The Witches, The Bouquet, Zuzana in the Bath, The Electric Puma, The Sweet Life of Mad Vincek, The Man from the Attic, The Sadness of Crazy Girls and Malý domácí tingl-tangl, with the bonus Ozvěny Music Hallu. The contents are in Czech.
