This CD contains the complete film score by Karel Svoboda for the fairy tale Three Nuts for Cinderella in a new, extended version, faithfully performed with its original atmosphere and contemporary sound. In 2018, the recording commemorates 45 years since the premiere of the film, which was made in 1973 as a Czechoslovak-German co-production directed by Václav Vorlíček and has become popular in many countries around the world. The music plays an important part in the film’s success, with its melodies and motifs known to tens of millions of listeners worldwide. The new recording is performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra and retains the original mood and faithful interpretation while offering improved sound quality. It includes a longer playing time, more musical numbers and, as a bonus, the original recording of “Where, Little Bird, Is Your Nest?” performed by Karel Gott. The release also commemorates Karel Svoboda’s 80th birthday, which he did not live to celebrate. The bonus track is not included on the German version of the release.
