Description
Five years after the warmly received debut Under Quiet, exceptionally talented producer and singer Sára Vondrášková, known as Never Sol, presents her second studio album, Chamaleo. The title evokes the colourfulness and variety of both the recording and its distinctive graphic artwork. Over recent years, Sára has developed a unique sound that she describes as “melancholic slow synth darkpop.” She explored what her music is and how it should sound, sought instruments that would allow her to express herself as faithfully as possible, and learned production and synthesizer techniques. As suggested by the opening single “Zoe,” the album is built mainly around hardware, mostly analogue synthesizers, samples and vocals, shaped into melancholic harmonies. Never Sol also handled the entire production herself, while Matouš Godík was responsible for the final mix and mastering. The tracklist includes “Blue Dress,” “Fog,” “Zoe,” “Moving in Sleep,” “We Can Be Hungry,” “Haptic” featuring TouchieTouchie, “Magony,” “See-Through Eyes,” “Swallow the Moon,” “Trees,” and “Roza.”
