This Czech-language audio collection brings together magical fairy tales read by acclaimed actors. Aňa Geislerová reads Josef Čapek’s Tales of a Dog and a Cat, a chapter from Astrid Lindgren’s Pippi Longstocking and Andersen’s The Little Match Girl. Barbora Poláková reads the opening chapters of Peter Pan, Václav Jílek performs Jan Drda’s The Princess Jasněnka and the Flying Shoemaker, Jakub Prachař reads a tale from Jan Werich’s Fimfárum, Jiří Suchý z Tábora reads Karafiát’s Fireflies, and Patrik Děrgel tells the story How the Wasp Marcelka Was Glad to Be. The selection includes gentle and sad, ironic and warm, rough and delicate stories that influenced the performers during their childhood and that they now joyfully pass on to new generations. Music is by Václav Trojan, performed by Václav Hudeček on violin, Pavel Drešer on accordion and Lubomír Brabec on guitar. The contents are in Czech.
