Description
Ondřej Brzobohatý’s first solo album written entirely by himself brings together songs shaped by jazz, soul, pop, funk and big beat. The popular musician and actor spent a long time gathering material in order to create a thoughtful, unhurried collection about his musical and personal identity. The lyrics combine a sense of rhythm with shifting emotions expressed through inventive metaphors. Brzobohatý recorded the songs with his concert bandmates and former classmates from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory: drummer Tomáš Kozelka, saxophonist Matouš Kobylka, bassist Jaroslav Pokorný and guitarist Ondřej Fišer. The strings are performed by Epoque Orchestra under Jan Kučera. Slovak singer Peter Cmorik appears as a guest on the Czech-Slovak duet “Vietor”, while Tereza Černochová provides vocals on “Věštkyně”. The album contains ten tracks, including “Identity”, “Správci osudů”, “Jíst, meditovat, milovat”, “Věstkyně”, “And The Oskars Go To”, “Markýza Andělů”, “Sedm”, “Spolu”, “Vietor” and “Epilog”. The song “And The Oskars Go To” introduced the album with an inventive music video directed by Vojta Kotek.
