Neomillnerová: Amélie a tma - 2 CD

This Czech-language audiobook captures the atmosphere of a mysterious story about an unusual friendship. Petra Neomillnerová, known for her vampire novels and novellas in the fantasy genre, wrote this unusual, convincing and successful children’s book about the fateful friendship between two girls, Amélie and Markéta. Amélie is the ghost of a drowned girl who died with her mother, a famous opera singer, 122 years ago during a great flood in Prague. An unexpected meeting with Markéta brings her joy again, giving her someone to play with, laugh with and talk to. Markéta has troubles of her own: her friends do not understand her, while her mother barely has enough money to support them. The girls keep their friendship secret until Amélie saves Markéta from drowning, changing both their lives. The story is narrated alternately by the two heroines. Nikola Votočková voices Amélie and Vladana Drvotová voices Markéta, while Veronika Gajerová and Lenka Zbranková portray their mothers. Music by Dan Fikejz heightens the mysterious atmosphere and dramatically separates the worlds of the living and the dead.
