Description
This CD is the first part of Supraphon’s three-part project presenting recordings by Sviatoslav Richter, one of the greatest artistic personalities of the modern era, made in Prague concert halls and studios during the 1950s and 1960s. Richter loved Prague and often returned there. A significant part of these recordings is released for the first time worldwide. The album is devoted to the music of Robert Schumann, one of the pianist’s greatest artistic loves, and features Fantasy, op. 17, Forest Scenes, Fantasiestücke and March in G minor. The more distinctly Richter the interpretation, the more distinctly Schumann it becomes.
