Description
The American punk rock band Green Day formed in 1986 around singer Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. The band was part of the California punk scene that developed around the 924 Gilman Street club in Berkeley. After initially releasing music on the small independent label Lookout!, Green Day moved to a major record company in 1994 and achieved phenomenal success with their first album there, Dookie, which sold more than 10 million copies in the United States alone. Green Day are now one of the most commercially successful rock bands in the world, with more than 75 million records sold, and have received numerous awards, including five Grammys. Father of All Motherfuckers is the American group’s thirteenth studio album, influenced, according to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, by soul, Motown and glam rock, among other styles.
