Description
Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative and successful bands in the world. Their recordings rank among the most celebrated in rock'n'roll history, and John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant have sold more than 300 million albums as Led Zeppelin. Their music continues to resonate across generations. Released in November 1971, the band's fourth album is still regarded as one of the central works of rock history. It was nominated for the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and, according to the RIAA, is 23-times platinum. This remastered edition was personally supervised by Jimmy Page and expanded with previously unreleased material, including alternate mixes of Misty Mountain Hop and Four Sticks, an alternate version of Stairway to Heaven from Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles, and mixes of The Battle of Evermore and Going to California featuring guitar and mandolin. The two-LP set contains the original album with Black Dog, Rock and Roll, The Battle of Evermore, Stairway to Heaven, Misty Mountain Hop, Four Sticks, Going to California and When the Levee Breaks, together with companion audio featuring alternate and additional mixes of these recordings.
