Description
In this Czech-language book, the author presents portraits of ten characters, as unsettled as his drawing, who struggle with frustrating work, boredom, dysfunctional relationships or the nightmare of insomnia. In an effort to change their fate, they immerse themselves in dreams and experience moments of fulfilment that briefly illuminate the gloom of everyday life in Poland. After waking, however, they once again find themselves in apathy and solitude. With his characteristic naturalistic perspective, Janek Koza depicts suffering and desires across generations, from people in their twenties to those in their fifties. Does their bad dream begin when they lay their head on the pillow, or when they open their eyes in the morning?
