Antoni Gaudí is one of the boldest and most original artists of the 20th century, while the Sagrada Família church is a symbol not only of Barcelona but of modern European culture as a whole. During his lifetime, the Catalan Gaudí is known as the “architect of God.” Rooted in the faith and traditions of his family and homeland, he devotes his talent and energy to a new approach to art, which he understands as a means of perceiving the joyful message of Christ. The houses and towers he builds, as well as the other works he designs, arise from his spirituality, and he entrusts both his buildings and his entire life to divine providence.
