This picture-reading book in Czech is designed for curious preschoolers and first-grade pupils. The three cheerful witches Todie, Bonie and Debie are not wicked witches who harm people; on the contrary, they never spoil anyone’s fun and are happy to help wherever needed. They are also rather muddle-headed, however, so when they start school as new teachers, it soon becomes clear that there will be plenty of amusement. Intended for the youngest readers, the book uses large type and is filled with charming illustrations by Magdalena Takáčová. Some words in the text are replaced by pictures, which the child must name correctly, allowing them to join a parent in reading the stories.
