This collective monograph by fifteen authors examines the life and work of the prominent Czech studies scholar and literary historian Antonín Škarka. The first part explores his life within the conditions of socialist scholarship, the influences on his work, his early academic studies and his importance to Comenius studies. The second part examines his critical and interpretive methods through selected topics in Czech studies, including medieval verse sermons, laments and Baroque mysticism. The contents are in Czech.
