Description
This Czech-language book examines emancipation and oppression from the perspective of the analytical Marxist tradition in political thought. It presents G. A. Cohen’s historical materialism, explores the concept of freedom in relation to property and money, and shows that private ownership can also restrict freedom. It distinguishes between ancient and liberal democracy while criticizing liberalism’s tendency to suppress the class dimension of democracy. The book also considers economic power and oppression under capitalism and proposes an unconditional basic income as a tool of emancipation. It critically reflects on liberal democracy and seeks a path towards a freer society.
