Description
Set long before the events of Stolen Tongues, this horror novel follows Onwé Lopez, who is torn between two worlds in the Native American reservation of Cold Valley, beneath the silent and sinister mountain Pale Peak. By day, he watches his people turn away from their original traditions and faith in search of refuge in Christianity. At night, however, he is tormented by terrifying dreams of Akánth, a childhood friend who disappeared without a trace decades earlier. After an unexpected tragedy, a stranger arrives in town, bringing testimony of death and inexplicable destruction. In the dark streets of Autumn Ridge, a specter begins to wander at night, peering into windows and hungering for human souls. Voices start whispering to Onwé from caves deep beneath Pale Peak, luring him into the mountain and promising the return of everyone he has loved. This is a story of a town where the past painfully collides with the present and which falls victim to an ancient evil that should never have been awakened. The book is in Czech.
