Description
This Czech-language autobiography follows Bruce Dickinson from his childhood in Worksop, where he was raised by his grandparents while his parents travelled with their dog show, through boarding school and studying history at Queen Mary University in London. Music eventually became his true path, and he recounts his time in various bands before joining Iron Maiden, whose sixteen studio albums, three lead singers, over 100 million records sold, Grammy nominations and twenty-five adventurous tours made them world famous. He describes life as a heavy-metal star, the advantages and difficulties of touring, and the band’s use of their own aircraft, Ed Force One, named after Eddie, the band’s skeletal mascot. He also writes about learning to fly and earning his pilot’s licence, his relationship with fencing and his battle with cancer. Bruce is an entertaining storyteller who fills his account with amusing anecdotes from his life.
