Description
Do you know your way around the jungle where instincts slither in the roots of trees while intelligence screams in the treetops? It's tempting to say yes... Our personality has the complexity, cunning, and potential of a real jungle. It contains hidden treasures, wandering roots, and dangerous corners. Sneaky monsters lurk within, wanting to take control, and it's good to be aware of them and not let them steer our behavior. Enlightened beings also reside within, eager to guide us to freedom if we give them the chance. If we have a modern education, it tends to be more technical. We usually know how to work with computers, speak languages, and understand our field. However, we often struggle to understand people and their relationships. Navigating these wild territories is immensely beneficial. If we understand what we feel and what we do, we can control our feelings and behavior and apply our insights in another jungle – the one around us. A good map is essential for the journey into the intricate landscape of human psychology. One that doesn’t get lost in details but sticks to essential connections. One that doesn’t flee to mysticism but relies on science and facts. Jiří Plamínek has drawn such a map and given it the form of this book. It is practical, includes numerous examples, and is designed for immediate use...
