This Czech-language monograph by a collective of art historians from Charles University and the Czech Academy of Sciences presents a comprehensive account of Baroque architecture in Bohemia and summarizes the results of previous research. The authors discuss not only leading architects such as Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel and Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer, but also lesser-known regional creators who have so far received little attention. The text places the subject in the broader cultural and social context of the 17th and 18th centuries. The book contains extensive visual material, including reproductions of historical plans, floor plans of individual buildings, and outstanding photographs by Vladimír Uher and Martin Micky.
