Description
This Czech-language archaeological atlas presents the development, duration and significance of individual prehistoric cultures, with sites marked throughout Europe. It is divided into two sections: the first contains 27 large, folded colour maps showing the distribution of cultures from the Paleolithic to the La Tène period, while the second includes around 800 smaller maps covering cultures and important sites in the individual European countries, arranged alphabetically. It also explains the main principles of dating, provides indexes of cultural and site names, and includes a valuable complete list of references for the literature relating to each location. The atlas is intended for specialists, university students and anyone interested in archaeology, and includes a CD and a map supplement.
