Description
This Czech-language book examines the phenomenon of displaced persons, people relocated as a result of the events of the Second World War. After the conflict, millions of people had to be transported home in every direction. Against this international background, the author considers the issue from a Czechoslovak perspective. Individual chapters describe care for displaced people after liberation, the establishment and operation of Displaced Persons camps, the everyday lives of Czechoslovaks waiting in these camps, and their return home. The book also explores how these displaced people, or repatriates, were perceived in postwar Czechoslovak society.
