The crazy comedy blockbuster directed by Steven Spielberg has been nominated for three Academy Awards. The extravagant and spectacular scenes, along with world-class actors, are the main strengths of the film, which takes place in Los Angeles just a few days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, when the fear of a Japanese invasion plunged the city into a state of Pandemonium – total chaos. A jumble of confused characters runs around Hollywood – agitated soldiers, eager merchants, weeping girls, and arguing Nazis – all together creating a sweet pudding full of humor, in which Spielberg even dared to parody the opening shots from his own film Jaws. Starring: Dan Aykroyd, Ned Beatty, John Belushi, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, Christopher Lee, Tim Matheson, Toshiro Mifune, Warren Oates, Robert Stack, and others. Directed by: Steven Spielberg.
