Description
"They killed the old lady, she's gone. – How? – They say they gave her a blow like this. – Bang..." The not-so-sympathetic but very nervous James Bentley stood before the jury with a rather unconvincing story... And since the evidence spoke clearly, the verdict was "guilty." However, Police Inspector Spence from Kilchester sought out Hercule Poirot to ask him to review the case of the murder of the elderly maid McGinty, who lived in the remote village of Broadhinny. He believes that the shy young man did not commit the crime despite everything, and he does not want to see an innocent man hanging from the gallows... But who else could have murdered her and so foolishly hidden the loot but her tenant, who owed the old lady two months' rent, knew well where she kept her money, and had blood and a hair of the victim on his jacket sleeve? In the novel, alongside Hercule Poirot, the famous detective fiction author Ariadne Oliver, the charmingly entertaining alter ego of Agatha Christie, also appears. Duration of the recording: 8 hours 34 minutes.
