This 180-gram LP is a commemorative reissue of Luboš Pospíšil’s solo debut, a significant 1983 album. Forty years after its original release, it still deserves to be called an outstanding long-playing record, not only because of contemporary magazine and other accolades, but above all because many of its songs remain part of Pospíšil’s concert repertoire to the delight of audiences. His time with C&K Vocal was important, and his subsequent move into a solo career was a logical step. As the principal composer, working here with lyricist Ladislav Kantor, he created a distinctive kind of rock singer-songwriter. His unmistakable voice complements strong melodies and poetic lyrics that never lose contact with listeners. Ota Petřina also contributed greatly to the album’s success through his compositional, instrumental and bandleading work. The original LP pressing was small and was not reprinted after selling out, so this revived vinyl edition follows four decades later. Graphic designer Karel Haloun again celebrates photographs by Jarek Prokop, while Luboš Pospíšil adds a brief retrospective. The edition also includes the eight-minute opus “Lásko, lásko...” as a CD bonus, a clear sign of the courage that would lead to his subsequent solo career.
