This eight-CD set presents Antonín Dvořák’s orchestral music, including Slavonic Dances, Slavonic Rhapsodies, The Hussite Overture, My Home, A Hero’s Song, the Czech Suite, Suite in A major, Scherzo capriccioso, Legends, the Festive March, Prague Waltzes, the Polonaise in E-flat major, the Polka “To the Prague Academics,” serenades and the String Serenade in B major. The concertante works include the early Cello Concerto in A major, the Cello Concerto in B minor, Silent and the Rondo in G minor for cello and orchestra, the Piano Concerto in G minor, the Violin Concerto in A minor, and the Romance in F minor and Mazurek for violin and orchestra. Performers include Josef Suk, Václav Hudeček, Ivan Moravec and Miloš Sádlo, with the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK and the Prague Chamber Philharmonia conducted by Václav Neumann, Sir Charles Mackerras, Jiří Bělohlávek, Bohumil Gregor and Jakub Hrůša. The collection extends Supraphon’s Dvořák editions with rarely recorded works, established interpretations and newly remastered sound.
